Will a mezzanine work in a building with low clear height?

In many cases, yes. Storage decks don't need as much headroom as two full working levels. We measure to the lowest obstruction, then set a deck height that leaves usable space above and below. If it won't work, we'll say so early.

Does the mezzanine attach to the old building?

No. A free-standing mezzanine stands on its own columns, anchored to the floor, and doesn't rely on walls or the roof. That keeps the existing structure as it is.

How is the cost determined?

By deck size, the load it must carry, height and accessories like stairs and gates. We don't publish rates because each building differs. You get an itemized quote tied to your drawing.

Can we add a second stair or more deck later?

Yes. The structure bolts together, so extra bays or stairs can be added later. We keep your drawings to make sure additions line up with the original.

Storage Mezzanines for Older Shively Buildings

Many Shively buildings were put up for manufacturing long before today's distribution boxes, and they have lower clear heights. That rules out tall racking but still leaves room for a deck.

Good uses for a deck in these buildings:

Shelved storage for parts and supplies

Archive and record storage

Maintenance spares and tooling

Light packing or sorting areas
